Carter's, Inc. (NYSE: CRI) designs, sources, markets, and retails branded apparel and related products exclusively for babies and young children under its core brands including Carter's, OshKosh B'gosh, Skip Hop, Little Planet, Just One You, Child of Mine, and Simple Joys; offerings encompass baby and toddler clothing such as bodysuits, pajamas, outfit sets, graphic tees, jeans, activewear, dresses, rompers, shoes, swimwear, bedding, decor, toys, gifts, accessories, and grow-with-baby essentials like gear for playtime, snack time, and bath time. The company operates through U.S. Retail, U.S. Wholesale, and International segments, distributing products via approximately 800 company-owned stores in the United States and Canada, over 17,000 department stores and national chain locations, e-commerce platforms, and international partners; it targets parents and families in North America with a focus on high-quality, value-driven, and sustainable options using global sourcing for competitive costs. Founded in 1865 by William Carter in Needham, Massachusetts, and headquartered at 3438 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, Georgia, Carter's, Inc. holds a leading position as North America's largest branded marketer of such apparel, accounting for significant market share in newborn-to-toddler clothing and sleepwear. In recent developments, the company's subsidiary The William Carter Company completed a $575 million upsized offering of 7.375% senior notes due 2031 in November 2025, generating approximately $567 million in net proceeds to redeem outstanding 5.625% senior notes due 2027 and for general corporate purposes; Carter's announced productivity actions including approximately 300 office role reductions, 150 store closures over three years, and targeted annual savings of $35 million plus over $10 million in SG&A cuts amid challenges from higher tariffs and product costs. Additionally, Carter's formed a partnership with March of Dimes in November 2025 during Prematurity Awareness Month, with the Carter’s Charitable Foundation donating $50,000 to support research, awareness, and NICU family programs; the company continues brick-and-mortar expansion with plans for 250 new U.S. stores by 2027 and reported year-over-year store visit growth in 2024, including strong back-to-school performance.
